 Power of a Hug
In the cold, lonely, and isolated modern world;
Some have recoiled back into their protective shells.
Emotions have become frozen like a winter in Buffalo;
As only a small fragment of their love now remains.
Faces are drawn into that stoic zombie gaze;
Blocking away the sunlight, as well as the pain.
No longer willing to reach out, ice in the veins;
Where once flowed warmth, humanity, and love.
The cocoon of protection has become a prison;
Now in a lockdown is the very soul of this life.
You can see the depression in their hollow eyes;
Yet sometimes they still seek a glimmer of light.
Become an agent of love and of peace in this world;
Gladly release the warmth and energy to the hungry.
Open your heart as well as your arms as you encounter;
Boundless love is the key, that sweet love from above.
Walk in peace as you approach one of these souls;
Allow your smile to shine out the light of reformation.
Reach into the coldness, and touch another with love;
The power of a hug can break down the prison door.
