Several times I tried to tell a story
I couldn't believe it was child refused
I could not possibly figure out why
About a family who were on food stamps
One of the girls wanted chocolate Milk
Mom said, "Honey it is not an essential."
Every purchase added to a hand computer
I put the milk in my cart. My goal--race them
not beat to the front checkout desk
Leave the milk and go--but they were
checking out in front of me. The clerk
said, "56 dollars Mam." She forgot taxes
I said, "Put it on my tab and add this."
Giving the little girl a gallon of chocolate milk
Years later another end of town a closeout sale
Had a great sale on a grass hedger
Only cash or checks I had neither and they would
not save. Man stepped up, "Put it on my tab"
Girl said, "Mom that's the man that bought us Chocolate milk."
Man said, "When her first husband left her and kids
My wife was destitute. On food stamps
We met at Microsoft. Both make good money.
She told me the story and ever since when
she sees someone needing a hand she helps
She always said the man said to do that would
pay him back. My purchase was much more.
They all said, "What goes around comes around."
