The soul has much to say

An ordinary, evening

To be grandiose, or simple?

Renaissance, expedition
Red ivy, seducing alabaster walls
Poor man's version, of the Cloisters
Medieval dining, present-day conversation

Or...

Perhaps, something more practical
Curtains open , two chairs facing north
Us and the moon, make three
Two glasses, half full...two souls, half empty

Tales, of past misadventures
Wondering, "Would this evening, be different?"
An even mixture, of laughter and silence
Comfortable gazes, an added twist

A stranger, in the land of no pretense
My suggestions, drip with purity
Her acceptance, confirms my charm
The night, is shaped, by our imagination

The cocktail, of new beginnings
A little romance, a little mystery
Some hesitation, some reluctance
Part giving, part taking

Good vibes, till the end
So enamored, with her inner glow
I failed to realize, the obvious
She's a sight, for my lonely eyes

Never made, too much, of this day
Valentines, has no hold, upon me
Our evening came early, by choice
We wanted it, to be ordinary

...but was it?
