Want to Give Up An American Life

"Want to Give Up An American Life"
Written by Loi in November 6, 2008 and Revised February 9, 2011

Do I have to live in America?
Will I live there for the rest of my life?
And should I marry an American man?
Must I be there for my friends?

I tried to deal with my life
I tried to be myself
I tried to get to know what to do
I tried to be on time
That's why I write this song
And know I am wrong
But do I feel that way?
How can I express my feeling to someone?
How can I get to know real?
How can I hit the home run?

So I went into the world
And looking for an easy task
A little help
I tried to get to a place
But why do I have to walk without life?

How do I feel?
How can I express to someone?
How do I get to know real?
How can I hit the home run?

But I want to give up an American Life
I'm tired of living in America
But you are caring and don't want me...
To leave America
You can tell me to stay in America

But...

I tried to get out of here America
I tried to move on with my own life
I tried to make a good income
And then move out of here America
But what I feel is I'm stuck in America
'Cause money isn't enough

But I want to give up an American Life

Gosh!

I drink a little water
I get feeling so exhausted
'Cause I haven't enough energy
And you know is not a good thing
I have no license to drive
(I'm not allowed to drive free)
Hey you think I'm an easy girl
You know I don't like that
I do walking a lot like the time is runnin' out
And this is not fair for a driver can save the time
So I'm takin' out of my breath
And you know is not a good thing
I'm diggin' out of an income
This system is so suck
And if all won't let me to give a fk
And you know is not a good thing
I finish graduated from high school
And I applied a job
And I need a license to drive to and get to a place
A trainer that train me is must be real
And a chose of life or death
A fashion and beauty
Do you think is a good thing?

I'd like to express you my feeling
I'm not an American and I'm not French
Well I'm Puerto Rican is an American
I just want to give up an American Life
And see why I plan to connect to the other culture via to my family

But...

Do I have to live in America? (Yes!)
How long will I live in America? ('Til die!)
