Ideas about
What are the
Needs of
The people
& the person,
And who deserves
The resource
Pie of
The world.
Why is it
If I do something
For profit
Because I need
To pay for a place
To live
& food
To put in my
Own refrigerator
That I am
Considered
Selfish,
But
If I can't
Pay for a place
To live
Or buy
My own groceries
But give
Away the money
To charity,
Then I am
A “good person?”
Why is it
Ok for a corporation?
& not a person?
When you are
On an airplane
And the mask
For oxygen
Drops
You are supposed
To put it
On yourself
First
Before attempting
To help another.
If you can't
Survive on
Your own
Then how
Can you help
Another?
If I preach
The worthiness
Of others
But don't
Take care
Of myself,
Then I am
Nothing
But a hypocrite.
Yet why is it
I have this
Niggling feeling
In the pit
Of my stomach?
Right now
I am in danger
Of my most
Basic needs,
Food and shelter
Not being met.
I've not had
Healthcare
In years.
I have needs
For medicine
I cannot
Afford.
I haven't bought
My own food
In months.
But I put on
A dang good
Party
& raised
Money for
Others…
So what's
Wrong
With this picture?
I didn't put on
My own mask
First,
& now I am
Dying of asphyxiation.
I know you want
My help.
But…
Right now…
I can't help you
Unless you can help me.
Right now
I need to be paid
For my time
Because I am worth it
& need to quit
Being a bad
Example
Of worthiness.
Right now
I need a place
To live that
Is safe,
Loving,
& clean.
Right now
I need to be
Able
To pay my
Bills,
Buy my food,
Purchase my
Prescriptions,
More than
Helping the
Next person
Or group
With their
Charity.
I need you
My friends
To understand…
Well…
That's not true,
It would be nice
If you did,
But it is not
Necessary.
I just need
To do
What I need
To do.
Hopefully,
In doing that,
Being good
To myself,
Will be
Doing good
For you…
For my success
IS
Your success,
My triumph
IS yours,
For at the
Most basic
Level…
We are
All
One.
