Discipline Directs LifeEndure through your discipline, And it will avoid the sin; That in the past has plagued you, As agony follows through. When disciplined we respect, The parent for the neglect; That we caused for being fools, And not following their rules. I know that we do not enjoy, Discipline without the toy; But for God do what is right, To find favor in His sight. Discipline is for the good, In doing as what we should; And so that we shall all live, By commandments God will give. It seems to cause us more pain, Than to disobey again; But the aftermath it brings, Will last longer as it clings. For later on we will learn, What good discipline will earn; Walking the straight and narrow, Hits targets like an arrow. As we follow down the path, We will be spared from the wrath; If we go do our part, And put them in our heart. Copyright © 2011 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
