Family Parable (Part Seven) Conversation on the plane
JOHN:  Considering we drove fifty miles to the airport
We made good time with the traffic report
I will get our luggage checked in
We will be ready to board the plane

SALLY:  If our flight had not been delayed
We would have missed our plane today
              Whatever caused the medical emergency
I pray they are okay now and in recovery

(Loud speaker – flight 113 is now boarding at gate 3)

JOHN:  That's our flight, non-stop to Houston
In three hours, we will be with our son
(prayer to God)
SALLY:  Lord, You have brought us this far by Your hand
Grant us traveling mercies and protect Tom by Your plan

(Find their seats on the plane)
JOHN:   I wish that dad  and I could get along
What have I done so terribly wrong
Will God hold me responsible for Tom
When he called, I did not listen to him

SALLY:  I think your dad still blames himself inside
From when your mom committed suicide
After losing your sister they named Melony
Taking her life was how she ended her agony

JOHN:  Maybe dad is afraid that if something happens to Tom
He will not be able to handle more grief and carry on
SALLY:  You could be right, but let's not worry about that now
I know God will give us strength through this somehow

JOHN:  I want to know more how I can have your faith in God
But I am afraid of what that would mean on the road I trod
SALLY:  God understands all the fears and doubts on your part
Just come to Him with simple faith and open your heart

SALLY:  After my parents divorced when I was ten, I had fears
I had already invited Jesus in my heart, but I shed tears
My dad had been having an affair and came home late
It hurt that he loved someone more and I wanted to hate

SALLY:  But I began to see more and value God's unconditional love
Then God sent a caring man in my stepdad who fit like a glove
It took time, but our family became whole again once more
Even in the bad times, we can still praise God forevermore

JOHN:  Honey, thanks for sharing from your heart so honestly
Let's talk more about this later, I am closer to being ready

(Loud speaker:  We are now landing in Houston
and we hope you enjoyed your flight)

JOHN:  Well, we are finally here, safe and sound
Praise and thanks be to God all around
Once we get our luggage and a rental car
Then we will call the hospital and go there
