MY PEOPLE WORSHIP THE GREAT SPIRIT. WE GIVE THANKS AND
RESPECT TO ALL THINGS ON THIS PLANET. WE BELIEVE THAT
WHAT YOU TAKE FROM THE EARTH, YOU GIVE BACK TO THE EARTH,
WE CALL THE EARTH; OUR MOTHER.. NEVER TAKE MORE THAN WHAT
YOU NEED. WASTE NOT! THERE IS A HIGHLY COVETED FAITH IN
OUR HERITAGE, [ALL NATIVE INDIANS, ALL TRIBES] THE STORY,
THE WONDER AND THE HOLY MESSAGE OF "THE WHITE BUFFALO".
WHAT I WRITE HERE TODAY IS A STORY HANDED DOWN TO ME FROM
MOTHER, FROM HER MOTHER AND SO ON AND SO ON, BACK THROUGH
MY FAMILIES GENERATIONS.
I NOW TELL YOU THE STORY THAT MY MOTHER HANDED DOWN TO ME.

THE GIFT of PROPHECY, "The White Buffalo"
Now is the year of the Buffalo
Open your eyes to see
The coming of what we have been foretold over generations
Listen to Mother Earth,
She now sings of the Prophecy for All.
When you sleep
Open your heart to your dreams
For the wisdom of our Forefathers has now come true
Let the women gather
So that they might sing of good things
Bring forth the young Braves
Dressed in Full Regalia.
Feather, fringe and bells tied to the ankles
Dance to the drums and the flute
Let our women dress in their finest
An array of furs, feathers, shells and beads.
From the rising of our Father Sun
To the setting of the Blue Corn Moon
We now give praise to the Four Winds
Listen to the songs of the People
Look beyond the Black Hills
And remember the visions held in the clouds.
Do not grow weary,
For the thunder you hear in the mountains
Is the return of the Buffalo stampeding
All across the vast Plains, as far as the eye can see.
Have you not seen the Eagle and the Hawk
Soaring across the great sky announcing that
Our legend has been born this vary day
It is time for us to follow the legend.
The White Buffalo has been born this day
And where ever she may roam
The land will be reborn for the People
The rivers and streams will once again run clean for the Salmon
Once again they will return
To the head-waters of their births
And once again they too will spawn and become plentiful.
Look to your heart and give of yourself
Become one across the Nations
Know the changing of the Seasons
First the budding, to full rich green
Into the colors of Fire
The leaves drop for the long winter's sleep
Branches bear to all, the message to be renewed.
Let's talk of a celebration
Of a New Beginning as we stand beside the Miracle of
"The Great White Buffalo"
Let us begin by creating the "CIRCLE DANCE",
Let the women start to circle.
Listen to the drums calling for the People to join "THE GATHERING"
The drums beat out the message across this land
"A GIFT OF PROPHECY, The White Buffalo" has been born
Let the young join in
For they are the future and must hold onto our "Heritage"
They're handed down from generation to generation
By our Forefathers
Bring forth the Deer, the Bear
And our brother the Wolf
Let all of nature join in on
"The Circle of Life".
We, the True People of this Land
Stand tall and proud this day
Let "ALL" come forth
Young, Old, Men, Women, Sons, Daughters
For this day "The Prophecy" has come true!
Lift your eyes to the Heavens
Let your hearts fly with the Eagles
Let the True People grow strong once again
As we walk side by side
Sing loud, sing strong of the Prophecy
Let the women and children dance in joy.
These things we do now,
In praise of the White Buffalo calf
We, the True People stand tall and proud
Even after all was taken from us
We were scattered to the Four Winds.
Beaten, Belittled and Killed
Manitou, has seen fit to give life once again to his People
His "Gift of Prophecy"Now stands before us,
His Nature Child of "New Beginnings"

"THE GREAT WHITE BUFFALO!"
