"MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY"...A Miracle

"MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY"...A Miracle

THE STORY OF A BOY, AT AGE TEN MADE HIS FIRST TRIP AWAY FROM HOME
TO THE BIG CITY. FROM A COUNTRY FAMILY THAT HAD LITTLE BUT ALWAYS
MADE THEIR WAY TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY. THIS WAS HIS VERY FIRST FIELD
TRIP ANY WHERE. TO A MUSEUM TO VIEW WORLD ART. HIS ENTIRE WORLD
CHANGED THIS DAY. HE CAME UPON A DISPLAY CASE THAT ENCASED SEVERAL
GOLDEN ANGELS WITH WINGS SPREAD AND ARMS EXTENDED UPWARD HOLDING
A WHITE ROSE BUD IN THEIR HANDS.

THERE WAS A SIGN INSTRUCTING THE VIEWER TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO SEE
A LIVING MIRACLE...  HE PUSHED THE BUTTON AND TO HIS INNOCENCE THE
MIRACLE TOOK PLACE BEFORE HIS EYES IN TOTAL AMAZEMENT:

"MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE"...A Miracle

Entombed behind four walls of the clearest glass that my site did ever see
Sculpted like a song of love, rejoicing sung by four beautiful Angels of gold
Arms raised as an offering to God, an earthly gift, the whitest of a white rose
God's hands reaching from the Heavens, from his wrist a drop of blood doth falls

Upon an open pedal, one glorious drop of blood, did change the white to red
To show us a miracle, in slow motion the rose of white did morph to total red
Then, "Mine Eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord", played along
Such an effect came over this child as the hair on his arms rose as to salute

His eyes began to water, a feeling came over him, one he never felt before
Here were tears unexplainable, one by one they raced across his flushed cheeks
His heart was pounding like a drum as he stood there all alone in amazement
What could he be experiencing, what could all this mean to a country boy of ten?

He tired to walk away, however deep down inside he wanted to take another look
Stepping up to the display case, he wiped the tears from his eyes and both cheeks
Everything was as it had been in the beginning, the rose was the whitest of white
God's hands were reaching and from his wrist a drop of red blood began to drip

Dropping onto an open pedal of white was one single drop of his Heavenly wine
Slowly it changed before his eyes, closer he watched in total amazement of how?
When the Angels began to sing, that unexplained wave of feelings grew and grew
Truly he said aloud, "Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord",
THIS DAY!
