THEY CALL IT FIGHT OR FLEE SYNDROME

There's this syndrome that's well known to humans
They call it the fight or flee syndrome it's real
When someone is facing danger in their own life

They'll either fight to defend themselves & others
Or they will just panic and flee the danger quickly
It is just human nature to try to escape the danger

The average person would run away very fast and far
Fleeing an impending danger is just self-preservation
And sometimes their emotions get the better of them

It is those rare individuals who'll stand tall
They square off and face the dangers head on
And they will fight hard to defend others too

They are called heroes by those they protected
Some people would say they are just plain crazy
But I'm here to tell you that they aren't crazy

They are America's best and they defend our freedom
They are well trained & highly disciplined warriors
And they have great courage and integrity as well

Then there are those people who enjoy their freedom
They enjoy the benefits that were paid for by others
But at the very first sight of danger they will flee

Running as fast and as far away from the fighting
I can understand they might be feeling some fear
But in the end they must live with their choices

If you had been one of those types that's to bad
And I could really care less if you had run away
It's your problem and you'll have to live with it

But if you had chosen to run instead of fighting
Then you certainly should never say anything bad
To those who stood tall fighting for your freedom
