 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

MONOLOGUE

I have crawled
onto red earth
mixed with ash
and bone

Of rodents and men

So irrelevant-

Storms have blown
filth into my eyes

Thorns bled
these hands

I am woman
just

Fathom that!

Uncertain footsteps
the fork
in the road

Resounding footfalls
circle

Lost and found

Shining armor
galloping hoofs
inside my arteries

Shadow people
listen

Tragedy and bliss
my eyelashes hurt
my arms will swaddle

You are under my skin

I hear you...

Voice in my ear

You say:

"Look toward the light"

There is no other
direction...I SAY

My space is dark

Bring me a souvenir
from your trip

I will be but here
entangled by unseen strings
that manipulate
our topaz souls

I say:

"Look to the velvet universe
I am that skeleton
shimmering"

I tire of my monologue

Savage heart
speak to me...
