it was the day after Hell Froze
and the Almighty God Above
watched bemusedly the antics
of those devoted to His Love

just a case of semantics really
as far as He could see
that caused all the problems
and for them all to disagree
and behind all the zeal
He seemed to detect a thrill
in the frequency and ways
that drove so many to kill

and their leaders in their robes
seemed to think it was right
to bolster their huge riches
from the poor widow’s mite
this pesky little planet
seemed to have lost its way
unaware of the consequence
of Hell’s Freezing Day

with a certain disdain
He decided to cut His loss
and withdrew from the Earth
and it’s maniacal chaos
