There is a quiet in the summer evening
When the day finally yawns from its toll
My weary eyes slowly close and I listen
For that silence that lies within my soul.
It is so peaceful and all so comforting
Allowing your mind and soul to connect
Enabling the day's activities for sorting
One by one in a cool and calming effect.
When in limbo, I listen to my heartbeat
I feel life's blood move as it surges quietly
Onward, my mind, my soul and my heart
A harmony of three, comprise most of me.
I brush my breast with summer's Jasmine
The sunset's red glow illuminates my flesh
Then twilight's curtain is drawn once more
As the day ends in silence, so lies my soul.
