What to Expect
As Libya is now really embroiled in turmoil
There will most certainly now an increase the price of oil
Our perceived total dependency on fossil fuel
Will now present to many and interesting mental duel.
Those who own those comfortable luxury cars
Will not see that gas bill increase by far
Then all of those owners of SUV'S will now wonder
Why have they gone, and purchase a gas guzzler
To the rest of us, there is not time to mock and scoff
This will also bring some very painful spin offs
As among other things, there will be no other recourse
To institute an overall price increase of course.
These threats, now coupled with the throes of the recession
Will certainly, make the situation more like a depression
And those businesses, struggling for any means of survival
In most cases, will lay off workers, just to be stable.
In listening, I found there were many who would constantly complain
Kept saying, that they are breaking under the economic strain
Hoping that somehow, their government, can perform a miracle
But never stop to think what part, they played in the debacle.
Yes there is something in human nature, to always have a good ride
But never seem to think, that sometime this may subside
And will tend to panic, any time there is cessation
Because there were no plans, to adjust to an adverse situation.
But like it or not, we must try hard to adjust
As each passing moment there is a harder and deeper thrust
Into the pockets, and will of the now crippled consumer
Don't think that soon, the situation will get any better.
