 THE LEAVES OF AUTUMN

THE LEAVES OF AUTUMN

Autumn is when the leaves exit from their branches
From the riches of the trees neuter to make green

Nature selects from a treasure chest of colors
Flying free is the reds and yellows and orange

The reds dance a ballet of fire
Dressed in crimson, scarlet and a strawberry wine

They rest upon a light breeze
Twirling slowly to the ground

The fire entwines with Cannery yellow, lemon and mustard
Twisting as they float upon a brisk breeze

They're in a fantastically flurry of a crosswind blow
Streaking across, back and forth, up and down

Her gold, amber and rust leaves
Lightly kiss there brighter kin

Gently falling on a golden carpet dotted in reds and yellows
One upon the other, repeating time and time again

The Leaves of Autumn
