PATIENCE
I composed a heartfelt poem In the shower today But when I was dressed and ready to write My muse had flown away. I remembered some words But was all in a tether Because there was no way I could piece them together. So I will go about my business And cease to wait, Muse, give me a clue Do we have a date? You are always with me In stormy weather But now that spring is almost here Can we please get together? I am not asking to write a tome Can you just help me with a simple poem? I will wait here patiently With pen in hand . . . . Until you reveal the words I'm at your command. Annette March 4, 2011
