That Industry
In these times, what seems to be succeeding so financially
It is that nemesis which is called the drug industry
Throughout Asia, Africa, and North and South America
Its presence is most certainly causing much hysteria.
Though illegal, its functioning like a multinational corporation
So entrenched, there seems to be no readily available solution
But what is even more compounding this serious problem
It has it tentacles in mainly the youth of the population.
Snared by what to some appears to be such an easy opportunity
To have that chance, to make some apparently easy money
But during that process, made what is considered a mess
Would be greeted by a response, which quite ruthless.
There was a time that area, in a certain era
Was controlled mainly by what was considered the mafia
Then in modern times, which we know well, or have heard tell
Was run by an infamous group, know as the Cartel.
But alas its potential, for some to acquire great affluence
Has been an attraction, and become such an influence
That is has snared those who has that taste for a particular lifestyle
Including politicians, law enforcers all attracted by its smile.
Some places have embarked on a very determined for of education
To alert the younger generation, to the very grave situation
But like the legendary hydra, no matter how many heads are destroyed
It seem like ten more appear to come to fill that void.
