 once upon a time

johnmcguckin78gmailcomheathergibsonjohnnyduncangeishashadowsontheheart
I’m a necessity!
Nothing wrong with my perception of my usefulness.
After all, we are all here to be used.

It’s how we let ourselves adapt to other people
Seeing and needing us as a commodity.
Need we let them buy and sell us?

Our fault we let ourselves as a person fade from reality
We make them feel good
But that strange old feeling it goes on and on

As I said its nothing new.
Everything is still the same.
I’ll keep on keeping on.

Think it time we worked out if this is all I am to you
A necessity perhaps I’ll say well I don’t need you.
I'll just shoulder my bag, wander off to find a life

Who knows what I’ll find. Most likely I'll end up dreaming.
Dreaming of you on another never-ending road
Perhaps I'll realize I liked being a commodity
