There are many times in our lives when things get all to complicated
I could tell by the way you smiled; it was your eyes that gave you away
Sorry, stories of falsehoods happenings by the way you made love to me
How well I recall the way your arms would comfort me, softly and gentle
My world was falling apart around me; you would lift me up with a smile
Don't you remember I would start laughing and you would wipe away my tears?
I lost the strength to pull myself up out of the gutter like a man would've
I just would take a walk in the park and all that was oppressive disappeared
I would look into your face and I just knew everything was going to be OK
We would take a walk in the park and all that was oppressive disappeared
Can't you remember watching the people's faces giving away their secrets?
Couples that were happy, those who had a lover's quarrel, young and old
When you were away I swear I could hear you whispering my name afar
There was something deep inside of me that would stir my emotions up
However, now it's not hard to realize we were two lonely souls searching
In search of, "The Never Ending Story" wanting to belong, forced to let go
I thank God for the times we had together, giving each what was needed
When you gave me the strength I needed and I helped to nourish your soul
Don't get me wrong for I will always be thankful that our paths did cross
It was meant to be this way; I can now learn to grow, to fly and to soar far
I will forever keep you in my heart!
