Devoted to the Word
I know what you have done,
The work you did endure;
All because of the Son,
Who made you feel secure.
The toil and patience,
That most would never bear;
Since kept in your conscience,
For you really do care.
The evil that surrounds,
Tempting to change your way;
As it even astounds,
Others to make them stray.
You have gone to proclaim,
Where the deceivers stand;
And suffered in His name,
Going through sinking sand.
Although the dark and dreary,
Enabled to endure;
You have not grown weary,
Off on the distant shore.
You are what I have heard,
And not held against you;
To devote to the Word,
Always remaining true.
So for your loyalty,
The Lord will let you eat;
From a specific tree,
In Heaven that is sweet.
