The Finals
What a very intriguing game is that one of cricket
Winning is achieved mainly by skills displayed at the wicket
This included batting, bowling and some very good fielding
To ensure that the opponents chances keep diminishing.
This world cup really presented some very interesting scenarios
Especially in Group B, it was hard to decide the order
The English team at one stage was balancing so precariously
But West Indies and South Africa, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
This game does not work by any sort of mathematical formula
On paper one of the finalists, seemed to be Australia
But was sent packing back to their respective homes down under
When the team was so convincingly beaten by India.
At that i decided to adjust my teams to be the semi-finalist
In my estimation placed South Africa as one on my list
At one time New Zealand seemed quite down, but a spectacular catch
By Mr Oram, was that inspiration that made them win the match.
Somehow there was always somewhere in my plan
Never to over look that possibility of the team from Pakistan
Though sometime very unpredictable, but on its day has the mettle
To make it to the finals and subsequently winning the title.
