 187. In My Dream
(Starter line from Tamarae)

She whispers to me
Of a love once broken
In my dreams
And even now
I wonder
If the whole world
Can see right
Through me
Can see the dream
I am in,
And the woman
I am looking at
Can they see this
Dream for what
It is?
Can they be here
In my own head
And see who she is?
Can they guess?
Can you?

I am terrified
You know,
That my fears
Are here in this
Dreamscape
Playing out
And that you
Know these
Deep and tender
Spots.

Can you see her
Red hair?
Can you see the color
Of her eyes?

Can you see
What is in mine?
When I wake
I try to shake it off
Like trying to spit
Sand out of my mouth
It takes forever
To get all
The grit out
Even days
And weeks
Later.

I don't want
To go back,
In fact
I can't.

Not back
In the dream
To take back
What happened there
Nor here,
In the waking
World.

I have to write
What happened
But I am terrified
At the same time
You will see
My weakness
In my dream
and
in me.
