 Silent Night

Stillness surrounds me, yet I wish for a party;
I listen intently, straining to hear anything.
Just something, some morsel of a pleasurable sound;
But ringing back is nothingness, only a silent night.

Time teaches that being alone can be fertile soil;
But only when this time is used creatively.
Meditation seems surreal to me at this moment;
As I want to enjoy others, but it is a silent night.

Stillness brings my soul into a position of reception;
The quiet awakens me to hear that still soft voice.
Without all the dancing, without all the music;
I can hear your ancient voice on a silent night.

Tears well up in my eyes as I sit in the darkness;
As the peaceful stillness brings me an inner party.
I listen in the quiet to your voice so pure and sweet,
Full of wisdom, full of joy; it is a wonderful silent night.
