A Loving but Stern Father
There is no need to feel ashamed,
For what I have proclaimed;
Still I teach you as a child,
Who is rowdy and gone wild.
There are many mentors around,
That I am sure that would astound;
Which would guide you along the way,
Keeping you from going astray.
Many are like father figures,
That could help you through your failures;
Showing you where you had gone wrong,
That caused suffering to prolong.
And so I became a father,
Rather than being a brother;
By telling you of the Good News,
That Jesus Christ paid our dues.
I suggest you imitate me,
So that you are able to see;
The wonderful works of the Lord,
Never letting them be ignored.
Some may be arrogant to think,
That you can go just eat and drink;
As you fill the Gospel with lies,
But I say that it is not wise.
For His Kingdom is not just talk,
Rather as power that will walk;
All over you not as a word,
But a stampeded cattle herd.
