The Desert

A desert, miles of land so barren and so bare
All looks so sandy and loose gather there
That vast expanse of sand to some so imposing
As always there are some who could find it comforting.

In a movie,it depicted as such a scary place to be
There will be displayed a skull, and bones scattered about carelessly
Showing the fate of someone, who got lost on a journey
Wandered around so long, and died from being so thirsty.

Or it may show someone, in a desert in the sand stumbling
Over head in the sky, the buzzard or vultures kept circling
Just waiting until, the person to death in the desert surrender
Then they will move in and the available flesh devour.

The constant changing of air can present a medium
That to an observer, distort the light around
Therefore by a series of reflection, and refraction
This can present an mirage, in the observer's line of vision.

A desert though perceived to be an area of nothingness
Is blessed with some fertile verdant spots called oasis
There are also animals living there and that a fact
I am sure one can see, that rodent the desert rat.

But what about plants, this one grows there with no fuss
The plant and there are many a variety, this is the cactus.
With prickly leaves, and large flat modified stems
Its a zigamorph, so growing there is no problem.

So when you think that there is nothing and all is hopeless
Think about the desert being viewed as a place so useless
So despite how harsh it looks, it has  those milder areas
So this can be an inspiration to you, in your life's fears.
