 In Silence
Listening to the sound of my soul;
I hear this word echo from the deep.
Coming up softly, in perfect stillness;
Drawing me into a unique silence.
It whispers her wisdom in my left ear;
I listen intently to her lack of words.
For it is the message of nothingness;
Like sleep for my tired soul, silence.
An experiment I will embark upon;
Becoming very quiet for a season.
Only my soul knows when to speak;
Muted silence is not the path of peace.
It is at the very root of conversation;
As my manic thoughts must be stilled.
Peaceful is the calm within my soul;
The silence becomes real, unforced.
Reaching deep into the well within;
Bringing up a large dipper of wisdom.
Stillness wraps me in a warm blanket;
As silence becomes my companion.
Peace, be still
In silence
