 Job Interview Offer Declined

Wednesday I met with my original agency
About a job that fit my skills almost exactly
Except for month end from their description
I noted year end experience to her satisfaction

I had called that morning about the position
We met early afternoon for further discussion
I retook some tests and improved on the 10-key
Also my Excel score was the best she had seen

In advance, she emailed the company my resume
A different lady than before would meet with me
She would call so I could interview on Thursday
Contacting me later on with details the same day

I agreed to the interview, also glad it was temp to hire
Excited someone saw my abilities made it worthwhile
Leaving, I asked for the company name and location
Surprised that wine and spirits was their distribution

I saw the position online last weekend and applied there
Noticing it was also cross-referenced under health care
I mentioned it, but she said an error was made in the ad
All the way home, thoughts kept going through my head

Some will not agree or understand my beliefs and views
In my heart, how could I work in those surroundings too
Since I have chosen to abstain from drinking any alcohol
I graciously declined and explained why when she called

While I knew deep inside the decision I needed to make
It was still hard when there was a potential job at stake
I do not understand why now but God always has a reason
He will open up the right door in His own time and season

During that time, I called the wife of my Bible study leader
I felt peace in my heart discussing the situation with her
Afterwards, I phoned another friend who was reaffirming
Supportive I stood up for my faith in a way unwavering

Ephesians 5:18-21 (ESV)
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery,
but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always
and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence
for Christ.
