 Exploding Chandelier by wings2fly2heaven
This free verse is based on a dream.  I've never had a dream in which I actually recited a poem before, (and to even remember it upon waking is rare indeed).  So here it is.... I'm sure this dream was a metaphor.

Within my dream, I recited my mind's eye…

And there it was…..fixed high above!

A dingy grayish yellow hue clung...
Could this be a metaphor for a life lived within dim moments of existence?

Yet for this chandelier so grand I sustained my gaze.

I summoned this glowing treasure of intention at my will.

Suddenly the light trapped behind the screens of dusty illusion burst forth!

The sparkles of illumination escaped by descending shards that exploded like diamonds igniting a world in which I merely existed.

Within these four walls, there lay upon my floor the shimmering stones that led a path to our dreams of desires, our spasms of passion… and we both came into being by the love of the brilliant light.
