209. Parting Thoughts
(Thanks to Lisa H. for the starter line)
Innocence passed away,
The blush of youth forgotten
Because it was buried
With the dirt
& rocks
Or regret.
It wasn't just
Innocence that died
But unfulfilled
Dreams
Obliterated by
The wrecking balls
Of acting
Responsibly
For the good
Of the family.
Everyone thinks
That death comes
At the end
Of some
Long meaningful
Life…
That there
Is plenty
Of time
For
Everything.
For second chances
For a mid-life crisis
For children
For
Forgiveness.
So as one
Who sees
What the bodiless
Does,
Let me leave
You with
This parting
Thought.
Tis' better
To live with
A life full
Of mistakes
To be learned
From,
Than one
Of regrets
That can
Never be
Undone.
