The first time I saw my wife
She was beautiful popular
Out of my class
She walked by my window daily
I thought Wow!
So did all the other guys
Dorm windows filled daily
Then I thought how vain
She must think she is hot stuff
One day going to the library
It was snowing and blowing
Lost in the road
One of the three girls walking by daily
I ran out pulling her from danger
My God this girl was blind
I realized it was not vanity
They were helping the blind girl to class
Teaching handicapped kids to swim
Been married now almost fifty years
She is still out of my class
I remember the blind girls words,
"Thank you for playing your recorder every day
At your room I knew I had two hundred steps
to the swimming pool"
The song I played daily, "Only you!"
She added, "I think Shari is your you."
Fifty years this November we will be married
Rosie is married today too
She married a man who found her inside beauty
