Leader Of The Dance
We all moved in motion
to the rhythm of the beat,
the dance was getting hot
and I stumbled on my feet.
We were proud in competition
moving our clogging shoes,
the music played in my head
and I wasn't about to lose.
We tapped it like a square dance
and I wore the biggest smile,
I was quick on my feet
and my clothes were country style.
Suddenly I kicked up my heels
and Mitzy flew through the air,
I landed back on my two feet
with a double-toe-step to share.
I was clogging my feet happily
to the music of "Flashdance,"
all ready to come in first place,
I really thought we had a chance.
I knew I was the one to lead
as I danced in the front row,
it was my natural talent
to clog the do-si-do.
I tripped over my shuffling feet
and slid across the floor,
I took out my whole row that day
when I bowled a fifty-four.
