I fall in love
Almost daily
Sometimes
Hourly,
For I see
So many people
As beautiful
As worthy
As the Divine
Creations
They are…
Not flawed
& sinful,
But perfectly
Who they are.
There is some
Concept that
“I cannot love
You
Unless I know
You.”
What has that
Got to do
With how I feel?
Haven't you ever
Looked across a room
Had time stop
Between heartbeats
& breaths
To have it taken
Away
In a flash
In a moment
When your child
Looks into your eyes
For the first time?
When your first
Love connected
With you?
No matter
If you had time
To speak
Or gotten
To know them,
That what you
Felt
Was beyond
Understanding
Reason
Intellect…
But felt deeply
With this organ
Called
A heart?
Who can reason
With such
An illogical
Thing such as
Feelings?
Such as Love?
To ask me
Not to call you
My love
Will not change
How I feel
Nor how I speak
Or type…
Would be better
To ask me
To stop breathing
So that you could
Feel more comfortable
In your own skin.
Because I love you
I will try to remember
To stop calling
ONLY YOU
My love
My Beloved…
On an individual
Basis…
But… in a sea
Of Facebook
Thousands
I may not remember
One day
& offend you.
For certain
This poem
Will upset you,
But poetry
Is the best way
I know
To remember,
You no longer wish me
To call you
My love…
Even if
You will always be
That in my heart,
Not saying it
To you
Doesn't make it
Any less
So.
