Firmly Rooted Prayer of Faith
Bow down thine ear to me O Lord,
Not letting my plea be ignored;
For I am poor and in grave need,
So I am able to succeed.
I have been subdued and oppressed,
And ask of You that I am blessed;
With shelter since my trust in you,
And have been faithful and been true.
Please save Your servant who does trust,
Putting You first before my lust;
Have pity on me as my God,
To whom I do honor and laud.
I call out to You all day long,
Since the agony does prolong;
So it can be turned into joy,
Letting the sadness to destroy.
O Lord, I want You in control,
So I am lifting up my soul;
Since You are good and forgiving,
Forever lasting and living.
You are full of mercy and grace,
Knowing you have a hiding place;
That is secluded from my foes,
And protect me from all my woes.
So open Your ears as to hear,
The problems I face and I fear;
I pay attention what You say,
For my plea of mercy I pray.
