God Strengthens Christians
I kneel in the presence of God,
Whence all Heaven and earth are named;
Giving Him such honor and laud,
As every day I have proclaimed.
In the presence of the Father,
Being part of His family;
With Jesus Christ as a Brother,
The source of my vitality.
The vitality as a gift,
Such a glory giving good health;
With having the hope to up lift,
For as a priceless form of wealth.
I am praying for inner strength,
Through the power of His Spirit;
To persevere at any length,
Deemed right through all that I merit.
But there is nothing I deserve,
Because I have been unworthy;
With the temerity and the nerve,
For asking such a thing of Thee.
For I am still just a child,
Who has never devoured meat;
As still tends to go run wild,
And even sometimes cause deceit.
But the glory belongs to Him,
Whose power is an influence,
On our faith when feeling grim,
Through life of our pursuance.
