 242. My Mom Taught Me…
(inspired from Art from Ashes)

The things I learned
From my mom
Were not the
Things
Most little girls
Learn…
But then again
I was not like
Most little girls
Either.

Mom taught me
How to make it rain
On one side
Of the street
And sunshine
On the other…
Not figuratively
Literally.

She taught me
That dust mites
Lived in my
Teddy bear.

She taught me
That the de-ja-vu'
Was normal
Because it happened
To her too.

My mother
Held hurricanes
At bay
For baby showers
And
Talked telepathically
With me
In the house…
Cause it was
Rude to do it
In front of
Others.

My mother
Was the reason
Why me being
“Special”
Wasn't extinguished
Like so many
Other
Little girls.

And for that
I am
Grateful.
