Gifts to the Church
I ask you live the kind of life,
Which proves that the Lord has called you;
Enduring the toils and strife;
And keeping the same point of view.
Be humble and gentle each day,
Likewise patient with each other;
Showing kindness every way,
Treating each one like a brother.
Each other lovingly accept,
Through the peace that ties the bind;
Acknowledge another precept,
Opinions of some other mind.
Do your very best to maintain,
The unity that of the Spirit;
Working as one body would reign,
As God would want you to merit.
You were called for sharing one hope,
One baptism one faith one Lord;
As God is helping you to cope,
Never let His Word be ignored.
When we went to the highest place,
God captured us and gave us gifts;
Some prophets or poets by grace,
A Teacher or priest that up lifts.
So everyone then must search,
Talents for them that has sufficed;
As gifts to be used for the church,
And build up the body of Christ.
