How shall you remember me
When I leave this festival of life
Where memories unravel
Like a story tale we sat and read.
The beginning was sweet
And we knew of no wrong
A precious dawn and
Each day was long.
Autumn chased summer
Neighbours came and went
Fashions evolved
Holidays inside a tent
Nostalgia lies dusty
Packed away and forgotten
In sepia prints where we smiled
And years were kind.
Think of me some days
When a tune jerks your attention
Where we danced around the living room
And laughed till we cried.
Never forget
Just how much I loved you
As I look at you from the place
I call peace.
