She looks into the mirror
With tears in her eyes
Once a raving beauty
But now she only cries
"Why did you let this happen?"
She cries to God above
"I thought you were my Father
I thought that I was loved"
She tries to put on makeup
Between her salty tears
She cannot face the music
She has too many fears
She cannot stand her body
She's feeling so ashamed
To go out in the public
Will only bring her pain
We need to show compassion
We need to offer help
These women facing cancer
I know it must be hell
To have so many feelings
And feeling so alone
We need to show we love them
We need to let them know
She's standing on the corner
Just staring at the ground
Looking worn and tired
She cannot hide her frown
A child comes up beside her
And wrinkles her small nose
She said "You are my hero"
And hands her a pink rose
We need to show compassion
We need to offer help
These women facing cancer
I know it must be hell
To have so many feelings
And feeling so alone
We need to show we love them
We need to let them know
So do not stop believing
We need to find a cure
We need to keep on fighting
For women just like her
And for all the little girls
