On Your ShoulderTo my brave other half John who has been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and is so very brave. He will beat it he says, and I believe he will, he did it once before over 25 years ago. That angel still sits on his shoulder. Sitting each upon a chair A smile, a nod, sad eyes, no hair Bravely doing what they must do Above them hangs a bag or two Medicine which causes pain But will make them well again. MacMillan nurses gentle touch Know that this can hurt so much Smile and welcome family in Together we can beat this thing. John I know that you are strong And bravely you will carry on Your hero Atlas when so young Showed you how it could be done I am proud of who you are A bright and shining sparkling star Sitting high upon your shoulder Your angel`s stayed as you`ve got older Giving strength, believe he`s true And I know he`ll see you through Vote for this poem |
