The Happy State
The Lord made my sins known to me,
And I did not cover my guilt;
But my confessions made me free,
Ensuring salvation was built.
I could not let them be ignored,
For He would not forgive my sin;
So I confess them to the Lord,
Letting His Spirit cleanse within.
This is why godly people must pray,
To be sincere and to beseech;
For we are weak and go astray,
So the raging flood will not reach.
For the Lord is my hiding place,
Protecting me from the worry;
While shedding me with His grace,
From all the chaotic fury.
God surrounds me with joyous song,
Shielding me from the misery;
And lets no agony prolong,
Protecting me from injury.
For the Lord will give instruction,
And will teach me how I should go;
Averting lure of seduction,
Where the iniquity does flow.
He will advise me while His eyes,
Watch over my path as I walk;
For I know that His words are wise,
So I will abide in His talk.
