 The Intoxication Of Life

Dew's evaporation releases a redolence of sundry olfactory delights
Infused with intoxicating odors as if administered by heavenly acolytes
The sun glazed sheen slowly dissolves from the elm mott's shimmering
Leaving the golden orb to its daily round of warmth and glimmering...

Shadows slowly shrink and shrivel, scuttling to find their proper place
Early rising lepidoptera begin their rounds, circling in valiant chase
To deny all apian bumbling humming things the nectar so sorely sought
Which on many an occasion is by the creatures too dearly bought...

None of the phyla were consanguine, nor unnecessarily on good terms
Each went its own way, using the warmth of daylight advantageously
Spinning along by automobile one could see them swarming the berm
Upon occasion colliding with windshield, being terminated outrageously...

Obstreperous flies noisily meandered among detritus of yesterday
Listening quietly one can hear multiple humming and droning things
Gregarious to a fault, gathering in impossible swarms as if at play
And, all as one, busily composing the daily song that nature sings.....
