Once the Indian Nations celebrated Pride and freedom
Now they weep for all that has been lost and destroyed
The Great Spirit cries for what once was theirs
Lands stolen, worthless treaties broken over and over again

We were forced from our lands a fact known for ages
Our heritage stolen along with our way of life
This caused our hostility to grow in every tribe
Our people were forced to walk the "Trail of Tears"

Our Great Chiefs fought against our annihilation
Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse and Geronimo stood strong
Their devotion immense against the White Men
The Great White Father ordered to destroy our homes

Walking death's trail, many perished along the way
We walked past all that we cherished and honored
Driven like cattle, forced to walk the "Trail of Tears"
We were forced onto Reservations caged and guarded
We the remaining still weep for a lost dream
The "Trail of Tears" were in the dreams of our elders
Medicine Men had visions of death and destruction
Old men and women took to the hills to greet Death
Their bones were found bleached and dry where they fell
We the remaining still weep for a lost dream
Emerging slowly many tribes added to the "Trail of Tears"
The Crow, Apache, Arapaho, Cheyenne, Blackfoot, Sioux,
Cherokee, Comanche, Navajo, Chippewa, Pueblo, Pawnee
Hundreds more found their tribes on Reservations over years
