Embarkation Party

It was a gloriously happy party
With the booze running free
And this attractive young lady
Sitting squarely on my knee
While earnestly discoursing on
The cause of womans' rights
And I very basely thinking
Of more earthy delights.

Old Sam was standing stark naked
Necking from a milk churn of beer
Every guest's drinks contributions
Being carefully poured in there.
His answer was quite logical
When I foolishly asked him why,
He'd gone and stripped off
To keep all his clothing dry.

You could cut the atmosphere
So heavy with ciggie smoke
As my young lady left
To harass another bloke
But I barely had the time
To quietly sit and think
Before her mate arrived
Bringing me another drink.

There was a call for fish ‘n' taties
And we soon sorted that
With a visit to the chippy where
They filled old Bert's Stetson hat.
We passed it around the party
Each taking their turn to a dip
For nicely salt and vinegared
Pieces of battered fish and chips.

It was a gloriously happy party
To send me on my way
Just seventy two hours to
My embarkation day.
And all came and shook hands
To say a boozy farewell
And I staggered off to bed
And the girl came as well.
