Christ Our Advocate
I am asking you will not sin,
And let the Spirit cleanse within;
So that you become clean and pure,
No longer tempted by the lure.
But if you do sin we have Christ,
Who on the cross was sacrificed;
And through confession He will bless,
Which to the Father gain access.
For the Father will find favor,
Because of having a Savior;
And your relationship improved,
Since you have been fully approved.
Jesus Christ speaks for our sake,
At the appearance we will make;
In the presence of the Father,
At the time whence we go thither.
For Christ is payment for the deeds,
In the world as corrupted seeds;
Like weeds have been growing throughout,
That sheds on each one so much doubt.
If we no longer go astray,
We will know Christ if we obey;
Remembering to keep His laws,
Then He will heal the little flaws,
But if you say that you know Him,
And obedience remains grim;
Then you truly are a liar,
And will suffer in the fire.
