 Elmo's Gym

Entering my man cave with purpose;
Bursting with explosive effort.
Rattling my cage with plates of iron;
Pushing past my limits again.
Ripping tissue fibers willfully;
Feeling the fire within my body.
Pulling the steel bar with all I got;
Molding my body in Elmo's Gym.

Down the stairs into this basement lair;
Equipment standing ready to serve.
Hundreds of pounds of iron plates wait;
Taking my body to my very edge.
Tearing and building, gaining strength;
Heavy rep after rep, the searing fire.
The billows heat up the blue flames;
Casting my body in Elmo's Gym.

Chipping away the rust from the years;
Creating change within my aging body.
Never surrendering to the sands of time;
I push back hard; I pull even harder.
Granite is dug from the deep mines;
Perfect for the foundation of change.
Like an artist creating a living statue;
Chiseling the stone deep in Elmo's Gym.
