My Inseperable FriendMy shady friend walks with me, where ever I may go, Casting a warping image emanating upwards from below, Sometimes it stays by my side, aping every move I take, Occasionally it will trail behind me as if left in my wake, Invariably bound by light, casting a form familiar to me, Displaying only one dimension, a dark projection to see, Misty nights, shimmering movements create an eerie dance, Displaying moves of a living spirit, with an unfamiliar stance, It wants to lead on my walk home, projecting itself to the fore, Beating me to my entrance, welcomes me at my own front door, As the sun sets on a low horizon, it mysteriously starts to grow, Seeking out that different light and distortions it wants to show, It searches and seeks for moonbeams on a clear starlit night, It dances freely as I stroll along, sharing this mystic light, I have become very very comfortable with this familiar friend, Because I know of its identity, it's my shadow I have penned Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
