THE REFLECTION OF A TORTURED SOUL

sparkle
Its father's day what can I say….

I was hungry and thirsty were you there, were you there
I was hungry and thirsty were you there.
An emotional void, an empty glare were you there?
Doing the bare basics of what a father should do
The role of a father is wasted on you!
Every other month you ring me, I ring you
Doing the bare basics of what a father should do

Its father's day what can I say, empty words and sentiments of who I wish you could be
Emotionally unavailable you don't know me at all but what hurts me the most are the vacant calls
No questions of how am I, or how have I been, instead you make explicit how everyone else has been
I am not interested in their stories or about when you last cut the grass or stories about your wife who is common and crass
What about me? What about you?  Stop doing the bare basic of what a father should do
Its father's day what can I say, empty words and sentiments of who I wish you could be

I question why there is a lack of interest, emotion or care..
Is it because I was adopted or is it that you just don't care
What do you think all good fathers should do
It seems as though you really don't have a clue.

I am 38 this month.. and still have questions of why's…
Just wishing that one day you will wrap me deep in your arms… and tell me…
‘Wendy my daughter I love you' and im sorry for not being there for you!

Happy father's day……..
