Cheerful Givers
Each of you ought to give,
By what you feel you should;
As your conscience can live,
With knowing that you could.
A farmer sows the field,
The more that he would sow;
Come harvest the more yield,
To abundantly grow.
In planting meagerly,
Will be less for to reap;
The farmer bitterly,
Yields less for him to keep.
We must all start to learn,
The more that you invest;
A more greater return,
Because the Lord has blest.
No regret what you gave,
Or feel forced in giving;
You will take to the grave,
That load while living.
God loves a glad giver,
For giving cheerfully;
To sow gold and silver,
Not hurting tearfully.
The good man gives freely,
With abundant kindness;
To the poor and needy,
As God gives blessedness.
