My Dusty Cowboy

He sat in his saddle high
Leather chaps showing years of wear
Boots  with heels worn down and silver spurs in the stirrup

This vision of yesteryear
His face was weathered with lines from the
hard blowing wind of the range

It seems like I had loved this man
my whole life
Times when he would fight for the right
and never give into the forbidden fruit of lust

I wasn't the best thing that ever happened to him
he was better off without me
I was just a self-centered girl
thinking only of what I wanted

If I knew then what I know now
I would have been different
but he forgave me and pull me up on the saddle
behind him and we ride off into the sunset

My dusty cowboy and me
They say cowboys don't cry
but cowgirls do
