Self-Effacement
Do you have the encouragement,
Helping through the management;
Of the faith and hope from above;
That gives you comfort from His love.
Do you have a relationship,
With the Lord at your fingertip;
For sympathy and compassion,
While you are taking action.
Then fill me up with the gladness,
From the sacred cup of kindness;
Having the attitude and love,
That is flowing down from above.
So always keep one thing in mind,
Through brothers and sisters you find;
About living in harmony,
Like an orchestral symphony.
Do not put yourself on a cloud,
Trying to stand out from the crowd;
And not selfish nor boastful pride,
Make room for the Spirit to abide.
Rather humbly think of others,
Being your sisters and brothers;
While you are putting them first,
Instead of your personal thirst.
Have the same attitude as Christ,
Remember He was sacrificed;
Not as defiant nor deviant,
But as humble and obedient.
